Substations included in the national grid, for example, are always completely customised. Based on this information, the system instructs the plant on when and how to respond to fluctuating demand. The governor <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199131462 BCX0\">integrates energy storage and hydropower<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199131462 BCX0\"> and <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199131462 BCX0\">will improve the ability of energy companies to meet the evolving requirements of the energy market<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW199131462 BCX0\">.\u00a0<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW199131462 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"TextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\" lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">The <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">governor <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">is unique on the hydropower market as it is the first of its kind <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">to<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">genuinely combine <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">the electricity generated in the hydro power generator and <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">an energy storage<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\"> solution<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\"> with the<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">frequency reserve regulation.<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun ContextualSpellingAndGrammarErrorV2Themed SCXW165078766 BCX0\">By<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\"> doing so, the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SpellingErrorV2Themed SCXW165078766 BCX0\">eHPG<\/span> <span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">improves the quality of the electricity <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">and <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">offer<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">s<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\"> valuable grid support<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">. <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">It also significantly prolongs the <\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">lifetime<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\"> of the turbine<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\"> as mechanical wear decreases<\/span><span class=\"NormalTextRun SCXW165078766 BCX0\">.<\/span><\/span><span class=\"EOP SCXW165078766 BCX0\" data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p><span data-contrast=\"auto\">\u201cWe have just seen the VEO eHPG in operational use for the first time, with the commissioning of Kemijoki\u2019s Kurkiaska hydropower plant, and we are thrilled to see that it lives up to the impressive results from the simulations\u201d. <\/span><span data-ccp-props=\"{}\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\"><span style=\"color: #0176b0\">Heat capture to support a decentralised energy<\/span> <span style=\"color: #0176b0\">system<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>VEO is also supporting its clients recover excess heat from a wide range of industrial processes, such as datacentres and wastewater treatment plants.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are many heat sources from industrial processes which are currently wasted. When recovered, the heat can be fed to local district heating networks and used for heating houses. This is an important step in decentralised heat production and we are delighted to see an increased demand for our automation expertise in this segment\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<h2><span style=\"color: #0176b0\"><span lang=\"EN-GB\" xml:lang=\"EN-GB\" data-contrast=\"auto\">Enabling energy transition in a wide range of industries<\/span>\u00a0<\/span><\/h2>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt feels great that we can assist clients in a wide range of industries to become more sustainable. By utilising hybrid technologies, for example, we assist our marine clients to run their vessels on stored energy whenever possible.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>VEO is also making contributions to the process industry. A current example is found in Norway, where VEO manages the electrification of a zinc production expansion.
